Musician

Brief History

Throughout his career, Stu has performed many styles of music.

Starting in 1986 in a Rock n Roll duo on Guitar, Vocals and Bass, Stu learned his craft of playing live and engaging with an audience.

Throughout the summer of '88, a summer season in Devon with the club band Midnight Hour provided further experience. Playing Guitar and Keyboards, they covered recent pop, through to show tunes and dance.

Whilst still keeping the duo as a side line project, he then joined the local rock band Maverick, covering Metallica, AC/DC, Motorhead amongst others.

His next foray was into the realms of Glam rock with Jeepster. Covering the likes of Bowie, Bolan and Sweet, at one time backing Edwin Starr (War) and playing in Showaddywaddy's pub in Warks.

Moving on, the next outfit was a 4 piece Soul act named Katz. As Bass and backing vocalist, they performed across central England covering Wilson Pickett and Otis Redding through to Rolling Stones. They also had some original material written by Guitarist Mick Clifford.

The Blues then came calling through The Stormin' Norman's. This 5 piece played many RnB classics and British pub rock such as Dr Feelgood.

Venturing out solo provided Stu with more control over the music he wants to perform.  His love of Pub Rock allows him get the crowd singing along. The varied gigs included numerous Festivals including one for Bikers in aid of the NABD charity. He also teamed up with Shakin' Steven's Guitarist Roger McKew for a one-off event.

Whilst Stu continued as a solo artist he's also deputised as a "jobbing Musician" on many occasions, performing with numerous bands as diverse as, ceilidhs, barn dances, theatre productions, old time music hall (in a prison!!) and much more.

The Rhythm section is provided by Alesis Drums, and Shure, AKG and Beyer microphones ensure superb vocal capture.
